Community
Garden
Stewpot's
Community Garden is located behind the Community Center. The Neighborhood
Children's Program and participants in other Stewpot programs
plant and harvest the vegetables. The fresh produce is then used
in the Community Kitchen and Food Pantry.
Facts
- The
Community Garden has produced crops of tomatoes, broccoli, basil
and other herbs, squash, peppers, okra, cucumbers, cabbage,
gourds and pumpkins.
- The
Garden was begun by staff member Caroline Ellender in 2000.

Volunteering
Volunteers
are needed to:
- Weed,
water and harvest
- Plant,
till, and prepare the garden for planting
- Donate
money, plants, weed killer or tools
