House
Matt's
House Emergency Shelter for Women and Children provides shelter
for homeless women and children who have no other place to go.
For over 300 guests a year, Matt's House offers a safe, nurturing
environment while staff assists residents in finding housing,
employment, or transportation back to their families. The residents
receive an evening meal and a light breakfast in addition to a
safe place to sleep for the night.

House residents are offered self-esteem groups, parenting classes
and receive help in finding housing and employment.
- Residents
can also take part in budgeting courses and computer workshops.
- Matt's
House was named for former Executive Director of Stewpot, Matt
Devenney.

Volunteers
at Matt's House can:
- Staff
the shelter to receive donations on weekend days
- Tutor
the children
- Do
yard work
- Take
the children on outings
- Babysit
for a couple of hours
- Provide
dinner for the residents
